REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PADANG -- The West Sumatra industry and trade office said it will confiscate all alcoholic drinks still sold at mini-markets and stores in that province.
The government has officially banned sales of alcoholic drinks excepting at hypermarkets.
The decision has been issued by the trade minister and violation of the regulation would face sanction, head of the West Sumatra Industry and Trade Office Mudrika said here on Sunday.
Mudrika said earlier the government already announced plan to ban alcoholic drinks in the country and finally the ban was made effective as from April 16.
"Only hypermarkets are allowed to sell alcoholic drinks and in Padang there are only two hypermarket outlets," he said.
