REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia's exports in March rose strongly by 12.63 percent to US$13.71 billion in March from, Rp12.17 billion in February this year.
The exports, however shrank 9.75 percent year-on-year, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said. Exports in March 2014, were valued at BPS chief Suryamin said exports of commodities other than oil and gas made up the bulk or US$11.72 billion of he total export earning in March or an increase of 12.5 percent month to month in March.
The largest export destination for non-oil/gas commodities was the United States to which exports were valued at US$1.33 billion.
The second largest was Japan to which exports of non-oil/gas commodities were valued at US$1.28 billion, followed by China to which exports valued at US$1.11 billion.
Cumulatively , the country's exports in the first quarter of 2015 were valued at US$39.13 billion or 11.67 percent lower year-on-year.
Exports of non-oil/gas were valued at US$33.43 billion in the first three months of this year , or 8.23 percent lower year-on-year.
