REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Jakarta Corruption Court sentenced Director of PT Dutasari Citra Laras (DCL) Machfud Suroso to 6 years' imprisonment for corruption and a fine of Rp200 million or an additional jail term of three month.

The court also rules Machfud to pay Rp36.818 billion in compensation to the state or his assets would be confiscated and if the assets are not enough to cover the compensation, he would be given an additional jail terkm of 2 years.

Machud was found guilty of corruption in the construction of a sports training center , Hambalang.

A number of people including former sports minister Andi Mallarangeng and former general chairman of Democrat Party Anas Urbaningrum had been implicated in the Hambalang corruption case.

Both Andi and Anas have been convicted and are serving jail terms.
