REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO -- The Health Office of Manado will soon introduce a home care car service to reach medical care to communities living in all corners of the region, the office head, Robby Mottoh, said here Thursday (12/3).
"This service has been adopted from Makassar (South Sulawesi) in order to maximize our services to communities," he added.
Mottoh noted that home care cars can take medical staff everywhere, which means they will be able to directly visit patients and provide them with health care.
In order to reach faster medical services to communities, the office has also introduced a 24-hour toll-free hot line number 118.
"Anyone who is sick can directly call on this number and the person will be picked by an ambulance with doctors, nurses, midwives, and complete medical equipment," he added.
According to Mottoh, the home care car is still in the trail stage for want of equipment and medical personnel.
The home care car will be an extension of Manado's 24-hour health service that was implemented three years ago.
