REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Justice and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly issued a decision here on Tuesday recognizing Golkar Party led by Agung Laksono as the legitimate one.

Following the decision, Agung Laksono called on party cadres to welcome it.

"We appeal to all cadres, sympathizers, and Golkar Party members across the country to welcome and hail the decision as good news for all of us," he said at a press conference.

He added that the ministerial decision number M.HH.AH.11.03-26, dated March 10, 2015, was relieving, considering that internal conflicts in the party had continued for a year and had consumed a lot of thoughts, emotions, time, and energy.

Agung called on all sides to stop arguments, wipe out prejudices, reunite, and once again rise to achieve the party's past glory.

He appreciated President Joko Widodo and Vice-President Jusuf Kalla for legitimizing the board of the Golkar Party in line with the decision of the party's tribunal.

He noted that the government's stance has been in line with the political party law, which formed the basis for settling the internal conflict by a party tribunal whose ruling is considered final and binding.

Agung pointed out he will soon make consolidation efforts by holding congresses at district/city and provincial levels and a national congress in 2016.

He pledged to accommodate rival members of the party board, which was set up under the leadership of Aburizal Bakrie at a party congress in Bali, that will meet criteria with regard to performance, dedication, loyalty and clean status in line with the party tribunal's decision to strengthen the party to meet the simultaneous regional elections in 2015 and national election in 2019.

Minister Yasonna Laoly has asked Agung Laksono to immediately submit names for the central board so he can produce a decree on it.

"We wish the names can be submitted under a notary act to the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. We will wait for Pak (Mr) Agung to set up the board in line with the decision of the party tribunal so that we can produce a decree to legitimize it," he added.
