REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X inaugurated the building of the JK School of Government at the University of Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta on Saturday, March 7.
"I am flattered to say that the JK School of Government has come out well, because we certainly acknowledge that the progress of a nation depends on the quality of public education," the Vice President remarked.
Kalla expressed his hope that the school, established on July 15, 2011, will be able to provide its students with the knowledge to become future leaders and also their ability to lead.
Meanwhile, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X noted that the JK School of Government (JKSG) will be at par with the Lee Kuan Yee School of Public Policy in Singapore. "With the presence of JKSG, we hope that this school will produce future leaders and qualified bureaucrats with a good character," the Yogyakarta governor asserted.
He said JKSG had been established as a tribute to the dedication of Jusuf Kalla to the Indonesian government's efforts to improve the system of governance.
