REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- The property market in Surabaya has promising prospects this year due to the high demand of various property products, a property developer stated.

"As the second-largest city in Indonesia, Surabaya is the main business gateway for the eastern part of Indonesia," Operations Director of PT PP Properti Galih Saksono noted here on Monday.

The high interest in the property market is apparent by the high demand for apartments and condominiums in the heart of the city, he added.

He noted that several factors had encouraged the city residents to live in apartments and condominiums, including changes in the public culture, the rise in the middle class population, and limited land space.

"In response to the positive trend and as part of our commitment to consumers, we conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Pavilion Permata Apartment Tower 2," he stated.

The Pavilion Permata Apartment Tower 1, which is now in the final phase of construction, had been already sold out, he remarked.

"We believe that not only the company but also the buyers of Pavilion Permata Apartment Tower 1 are happy because they will soon have an apartment, which is strategically located at Maj. Gen. Sungkono Street, West Surabaya," he stated.
