REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla revealed his plan to not open his office at the Bogor Palace in Bogor, West Java, although President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has planned to do so.

"No, not in Bogor," the vice president affirmed after opening the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) National Conference here on Monday.

Kalla noted that he still has his office in Jakarta to perform his day-to-day tasks as vice president and does not intend to move to Bogor as it is quite far from Jakarta, approximately 60 kilometers.

When questioned whether President Jokowi's plan to move his office to Bogor Palace was due to political pressure, Kalla explicitly stated that there was no pressure from any political party or any other party.

After opening the PMI National Congress at 8 a.m. local time, on Monday, the vice president attended a limited cabinet meeting chaired by President Jokowi at the Bogor Palace at 10 a.m. local time.

Earlier, Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto stated that President Jokowi will continue to operate from his office at the Bogor Palace for the next three months.

"During the next three months, President Jokowi will hold a series of meetings with regional heads, customs and excise officials, and the Police and Military officials at the Bogor Palace," Andi noted.
