REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- One of the leading Muslim organizations in Indonesia, Muhammadiyah, expects the new Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud to become a good leader not only for his country but also for Muslim people in the world. Chairman of Muhammadiyah, Din Syamsuddin, prays that King Salman can look up to the late King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
"King Abdullah initiated many positive things. One of them is building interreligious and intercultural dialogue," Syamsuddin said on Monday, January 26.
Syamsuddin said that he didn't know King Salman very well. However, he is optimistic that King Salman can lead Saudi Arabia into a strong country.
The chairman of the largest modernist Islamic organization also sent his condolences on the passing of King Abdullah. He said that King Abdullah took one of the important roles between global leaders.
