REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo grants clemency for a woman activist named Eva Susanti Bande during Mother's Day. Bande was sentenced to four years for provocation.

"I grant clemency to a woman activist who struggle for agrarian rights in Central Sulawesi. She is Eva Susanti Bande," Jokowi said during Mother's Day Celebration on Monday, December 22.

Bande is a human right activist who was sentenced to four years as she allegedly conducted provocation between people and palm oil company. "Do not let woman activist who fight for people's right get sentenced," Jokowi said. He stated that government had to be more focus on struggling women's rights.
