Indonesian Air Force to help repatriating Indonesian illegal workers from Malaysia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian Air Force will help government to repatriate 1,000 illegal workers in Malaysia using C-130 airplane. The Indonesian illegal workers are detained in Malaysian immigration as they failed to show legal documents.

"We have discussed the matter and the Commander of Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) has asked the Air Force to help repatriating illegal Indonesian workers in Malaysia," Chief of Staff of Indonesian Navy, Ida Bagus Putu Dunia, said on Monday, December 21.

The 1,000 illegal workers are gathered in detention center then they will be flown to Malaysian Naval Base in Subang. They are scheduled to arrive in Juanda Airport in Surabaya, Indonesia, on Tuesday.

"We will send our C-130 to Subang from Juanda Airport, Surabaya. But we are waiting for confirmation from Malaysia," he said.
