Governor of Jakarta invites investors to put their money in Thousand Islands

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Governor of Jakarta Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama invites investors to invest in Thousand Islands or Pulau Seribu. Ahok believes that such investment will protect the islands from extinction.  

Recently, ten islands in northern part of Jakarta are reported disappear. Ahok asserted that the islands were the assets of provincial government used as local tourism objects.

"We can get the islands back by investing in the islands," Ahoks said on Tuesday, December 16. Ahok encourages the investors to build infrastructure in Thousand Islands in order to get the islands back.

Meanwhile Local Secretary Saefullah said the islands disappeared due to natural phenomenon. He will visit Thousand Islands to observe the case.
