REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDARLAMPAUNG -- The Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW) said it will soon reported indication of corruption at the education and culture ministry under former minister M. Nuh.
Febri Hendri AA from ICW said here on Sunday there were indication of corruption in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum at the ministry under former minister M. Nuh.
Febri said ICW would report the indications to the Inspector General of the Ministry Haryono Umar and would make it public on Tuesday.
Among the indications is that the prices of books being too high -- a markup from Rp10,000-Rp15,000 normally to Rp50,000-Rp60,000 each, or five times higher, he cited.
"We have the document showing indications of corruption through markup of the book prices," he said.
He said ICW also found indications of corruption in the training of teachers for the implementation of the 2013 curriculum.
Training was supposed to take five days but it too only two days with the budget for five days, he cited.
He said ICW urges the relevant authorities to audit the entire procurement package for the books used in the 2013 curriculum including for 2013 and 2014 using funds both from school operational aid, special allocation fund as well as from fund from the education and culture ministry budget.
The 2013 curriculum has been in the center of controversy lately with new Minister for Elementary and High School Anies Baswedan cancelled the use of the curriculum.
The curriculum , however, could be maintained for schools already using it for more than one semester.
