REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TANGERANG -- Executive Director of Citilink Indonesia, Arif Wibowo, officially heads Executive Director of Garuda Indonesia. He replaces Emirsyah Satar who resigned on his post on December 11, earlier than his retirement date on March 2015.
"I am expressing my gratitude for the trust. I will resurrect Garuda as Mr. Emir did," Wibowo said on Friday, December 12.
He expects Garuda to obtain profit next year. In 2014, Garuda inflicts losses around 2.7 trillion IDR.
Emirsyah Satar said that Wibowo, as a chairman of The Indonesian National Air Carriers Association (INACA), could rebound the income of Garuda next year. "We expect Garuda to fly higher," he said.
Garuda also reshuffles its Board of Directors (BOD). The new BOD only has six directors instead of eight. They are M Arif Wibowo, Handayani, Ignatius Askhara, Heriyanto AP, Captain Novianto, and Iwan Joeniarto.
Arif Wibowo, born on September 29, 1966, was Executive Director of PT Citilink Indonesia, a subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia. He started his career as Executive Vice President Marketing and Sales PT Garuda Indonesia, Tbk, Senior General Manager in Western Indonesia Area, Senior GM in Jepang, Korea, China dan USA, GM for Fukuoka Jepang, GM Agency and Interline in Garuda.
