REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia confirmed that the cost of Hajj 2025 will decrease from the previous year. This is a commitment from the Government in accordance with President Prabowo's directive asking that this year's Hajj be better, efficient, and orderly than in previous years.
“The proposed scheme of Fees for Holding Hajj services in 1446 H/2025 AD is being revised in accordance with the President's directive to lower the cost without reducing the quality of services. The results of the revision will be presented to the VIII Commission of the Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia for discussion in the Working Committee”, said Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Romo HR Muhammad Syafi'i at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Friday (27/12/2024).
Romo Syafii added that Panja Haji plan will be formed on December 30, 2024 at a Working Meeting with Commission VIII of DPR RI. After that, the government and DPR RI will decide how much to reduce the cost of Hajj in 2025.
“For sure (the cost of Hajj 2025) is cheaper. Although Parliament is currently in recess, but they will convene in recess for the benefit of the nation and the country. Only after that the panja meeting. That's where it's only decided how much the hajj will cost,” Romo Shafi'i said.
The reduction in the cost of Hajj 2025 will be sought from the components of aviation, accommodation (accommodation/hotel), consumption, transportation, as the main components of the cost of Hajj. The cost of flights, for example, is the highest component, the percentage of which on average 35-40% of the cost of the Hajj is for flights. Other costs will also be rationalized, so that an ideal Hajj cost figure is obtained.
“The output is to improve service, training, and protection for Hajj pilgrims at a more cost efficient way. We are trying to comb back based on better cost management”, he said.
For the purpose of the contract in Armuzna to be completed immediately, the Ministry of Religious Affairs will request the approval of DPR RI regarding the use of BPIH Advance Money to support the smooth preparation of the Hajj.
“The contract at Armuzna in accordance with the policy of the Government of Saudi Arabia must be completed immediately, because otherwise we will lose quickly to other countries. Of course we don't want that. The congregation must have a better location and facilities in Armuzna, such as tents and others that are better than the previous year. To that end, we together with DPR RI will discuss solutions on this issue”, he concluded.
