Russia seeks cooperation on energy sector with Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Russia seeks cooperation with Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Mikhail Galuzin met with the ministry on Wednesday to follow up the talk between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Indonesia Joko Widodo in Beijing, last month.

"Indonesian economic condition and investment climate show positive trend," Galuzin said on Wednesday, December 3.

The meeting talked on the cooperation in energy, especially the building of refinery. They also discussed on the building of smelter. Russia plans to build smelter in West Kalimantan.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Teguh Pamudji said Indonesia and Russia had formed working group to carry out the cooperation. Pamudji emphasized that the cooperation would be implemented in all sectors within the ministry.
