REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Government plans to raise budget for fuel price hike's compensation to 8.14 trillion IDR in Revised State Budget 2015. They plan to expand the number of families who receive the fund and make programs on social protection.

"The amount of the budget for fuel hike compensation fund is still temporary. It can either decrease or increase," Director General of Budget at the Ministry of Finance, Askolani, said on Monday, November 24.

Currently, government gives direct cash in the amount of 200,000 IDR a month per family. The families can cash out per two months.

State Ministry of National Development Planning states the additional budget is needed as government plan to expand the target of the Family Hope Program (PKH) from 3.2 million families to 4 million families. The expansion needs additional budget up to 1.74 trillion IDR.
