REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) vows to topple newly appointed Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or known as Ahok. The hard-line organization will hold a big demonstration on Monday, December 1.

"I call people and Jakarta Society Movement (GMJ) to join a move to topple Ahok," Imam of FPI, Habib M Rizieq Syihab said on Friday, November 21. He also suggested religious leaders to join the move.

He mentioned that FPI would march from roundabout Hotel Indonesia to the House of Representatives and then to Jakarta City Hall. He claimed the move as the organizations's stance to defy the Jakarta's governor and all his policies. He said that Ahok was an enemy for Muslim as he violated laws and constitution.

Earlier, FPI planned to stage a protest during Ahok inauguration. But the move was cancelled. Rizieq said FPI suspended the act and vowed to make a bigger demonstration.
