REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo appoints a politician from National Democratic Party (Nasdem), HM Prasetyo, as Attorney General (AG). Prasetyo would be inaugurated tomorrow in State Palace, said Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto.

Widjajanto claimed that he did not understand Jokowi's consideration on appointing Prasetyo as AG. However, Prasetyo has resigned from his party. "Nasdem Chairman Surya Paloh guarantees that Prasetyo will resign from Nasdem," Widjajanto said on Wednesday, November 19.

HM Prasetyo is a politician from Nasdem. He acts as a member of parliament from 2014-2019. Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) defies him as an AG by saying that there will be a conflict of interest.
