REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The 5th World Peace Forum (WPF) held at the Century Park Hotel here on November 20-23, 2014, will serve as a platform for discussing resolutions to horizontal conflicts, stated the organizing committee chairman Andar Nubowo.
He noted that the 5th WPF themed, "Quest for Peace: Lessons of Conflict Resolution" is being attended by some 200 participants from several countries.
"The participating countries have their own conflicts and resolutions in accordance with their social culture, and they will share their experiences of effectively resolving their horizontal conflicts," Andar remarked at the office of the Center for Dialogue and Cooperation among Civilizations (CDCC) on Wednesday (19/11).
He noted that several religious figures, intellectuals, academicians, politicians, activists, and journalists from Central Africa, Morocco, Egypt, Belgium, Serbia, Albania, China, Pakistan, Australia, the United States, Japan, South Korea, and the ASEAN countries are attending the forum.
Andar revealed that issues related to the conflicts in Kosovo, Pattani in Thailand, Mindanao in the Philippines, Rakhine-Rohingya in Myanmar, and Lebanon will be discussed during the WPF.
