REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- American multinational energy corporation ConocoPhillips asks for ease on investment in Indonesia. The company met with Vice President Jusuf Kalla to ask for permission.

"We need some permits. I hope the Vice Minister Kalla will help us with the permission," VP Development and Relation ConocoPhillips Joang Laksanto said on Monday, November 17.

Laksanto said that the company would continue investing in Natuna and South Sumatera until the next 40 years. ConocoPhillips also supports the forming of committee to combat oil and gas mafia led by Faisal Basri.

Earlier, President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo said government will simplify investment process. One of them is through one-stop-national service. Jokowi believes that complicated procedure will hinder development of national economy.
