REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Traditional market operator PD Pasar Jaya will improve and develop the infrastructure of traditional markets in the run up to the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA).
"One of our efforts to face the MEA 2015 is the improvement of existing infrastructure in the traditional markets in Jakarta," PD Pasar Jaya spokesperson Agus Lamun said here on Monday (17/11).
PD Pasar Jaya, Agus noted, will set up the infrastructure such as buildings, security and other facilities to create traditional markets orderly, cleanly, and safely.
"We want to change the view of the traditional market that was muddy, shabby and unregulated. We want traditional market safely," he emphasized.
PD Pasar Jaya urges traders to maintain the cleanliness of the market environment by not littering and to sell competitive products in the market.
"The behavior of the traders should be better. Traders are also expected to sell a product that is safe for buyers. The products must not use hazardous food," he affirmed.
PD Pasar jaya has cooperated with The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) to maintain the quality of the food.
Furthermore, PD Pasar Jaya also improves human resources (HR) and operators.
"Revitalizing management. In terms of human resources, we give some trainings how to manage finances and take care of market," he noted.
He pointed out that PD Pasar Jaya will involve directly in the retail to maintain the availability of goods in the markets.
"We will impose non-cash payment by the merchant to charge market management.
