REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia has not yet decided whether or not to join the ASEAN Infrastructure Bank proposed by China.

"Indonesia is the only ASEAN member country that has not signed the papers. So, let us just wait. Let us see what Pak Jokowi (the President) will offer China before signing an agreement to join the Infrastructure Bank," Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto told newsmen on Friday.

He added that Indonesia's participation needed further discussion. Widjajanto said, "The President's priority is national interest. So, he will place certain conditions before joining the ASEAN Infrastructure Bank."

President Jokowi is scheduled to attend the APEC Summit in Beijing, China, next week. Besides presenting views on infrastructure and maritime issues, Widjajanto remarked that President Jokowi would also meet with a number of heads of state and government at the APEC Summit.

During the APEC Summit, Pak Jokowi would possibly hold bilateral meetings with the US President and the president of Russia. The president and prime minister of China would have a special meeting with Jokowi. Widjajanto stated that President Jokowi would also visit an industrial zone in Tianjin.

After attending the APEC Summit, President Jokowi would participate in the ASEAN Summit in Myanmar and a meeting between ASEAN members and their partners as well as the East Asia Summit.

"Pak Jokowi will use the East Asia Summit to explain in detail Indonesia's foreign policy," he said.

President Jokowi would also attend the G20 Summit in Brisbane, Australia, where he would meet with the Australian prime minister and possibly with the Spanish prime minister. Widjajanto pointed out that Pak Jokowi would talk about global economic situation and call for closer cooperation with G20 countries to overcome global economic challenges, especially in 2015. President Jokowi and his entourage, including First Lady Iriana, are scheduled to leave for Beijing on Saturday and return home on Sunday (November 16).
