REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State owned aircraft, PT Garuda Indonesia and BNI Syariah agreed to sign cooperation agreement to facilitate hajj and umrah financing. The cooperation is linked to seat booking and ticketing.

The signing of cooperation is represented by Director of Marketing and Sales Garuda Indonesia, Erik Meijer and Business Director of BNI Syariah, Imam Teguh Saptono, held at the Auditorium of Garuda Management Building. Meijer said that this cooperation could increase number of hajj and umrah pilgrims.

"This partnership will help business partners of Garuda Indonesia, especially for special hajj and umrah. It can also optimize seat occupancy of Garuda Indonesia for Jeddah's flight," Meijer said recently.

Director of BNI Syariah, Dinno Indiano is optimistic that this partnership will have positive effect. Since BNI Syariah was designated as deposits receiver, the role of BNI Syariah should continue to improve cooperation with reliable partners. He hopes this cooperation to create other programs, such as joint marketing events or hajj and umrah installment.

BNI Syariah has been four years in Indonesia. The subsidiary of state owned Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) currently has 292 sharia outlets. Garuda Indonesia operates 116 domestic and international destinations. The airline also becomes the official sponsor for the UK football club, Liverpool.
