REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State owned Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) recorded 19 percent of profit growth or 18.12 trillion in Q3 2014 compared to 17 percent or 15.23 trillion IDR in Q3 2013. President Director of BRI, Sofyan Basir said that the increase in net income was supported by lending business.
BRI's total loan reached 464.19 trillion IDR, an increase of 12.32 percent. Micro segment still dominated loan with 15.8 percent growth or 148.43 trillion IDR. Net interest margin (NIM) increased from 8.25 percent to 8.78 percent. The ratio of non-perfoming loan was recorded at 1.89 percent, a slight increase compared to 1.77 percent in Q3 2013.
"Retail segment also increased but still below the micro loan," Basir said recently.
Although BRI's lending remains high, the loan to deposit ratio (LDR) is still at 85.9 percent. According to Basir, company will reach 90 percent of LDR to boost loan until the end of the year.
BRI's third party fund (DPK) grew 19.7 percent or 544.27 trillion IDR. BRI improved fee-based income of 23.8 percent to increase profit, which was dominated by e-channel and e-banking transaction, cross-selling and integrated marketing.
