REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta governor, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo received a visit from Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg in Jakarta on Monday. In 45 minutes meeting, both of them talked about the use of Facebook in Indonesia, now and future.
In the future, Indonesia will use Facebook to improve various small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
"We have talked about how to utilize Facebook to develop SMEs in Indonesia," Jokowi said on Monday.
The elected president said that Zuckerberg would like to promote Indonesia through social media. He welcomes this plan.
"I'm so excited to work with Indonesian people. There are tens of millions of Facebook users in this country. We can boost many business sectors and create a lot of jobs," Zuckerberg said.
According to him, Indonesia is an extraordinary country and he is happy to visit Indonesia, including Jakarta. Indonesia is the world’s fourth-most populous country in terms of Facebook users.
"I feel proud to come to Indonesia, especially Jakarta. Indonesia is a big country and extraordinary. I really enjoy this visit," he added.
