REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice Chairman of Gerindra Party, Fadli Zon said that there would no be reconsiliation between the Red and White Coalition (KMP) with Indonesia Hebat Coalition (KIH) or Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's Coalition. He said that it would be better if the KMP took position as opposition.

"There is no reconciliation," Zon told to reporters at Parliament Complex in Senayan on Monday.

The reconciliation proposal comes from those who do not like the strengthening of democracy in Parliament. A strong parliament is needed to control and monitor government policy. Zon questioned the ambiguous arguments of KIH when loosing a number of political decision making in Parliament. For example, KIH assessed that KMP victory was a step backward for Indonesia's democracy.

"They perceived the democracy backward because they lost in Parliament. If they win, they would say it as democracy forward," Zon added.

Deputy Speaker of the House for Political, Legal and Security Affairs said that the Parliament in the future would be more creative in playing a supervision role. The House of Representatives will soon overtake corruption fugitives living abroad and those who still have businesses here.

"Their assets will be confiscated," Zon said.
