REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The elected president, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo was invited Faceboook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg to carry out the blusukan (impromptu visit) to Tanah Abang market, Central Jakarta. Zuckerberg requested the blusukan directly to Jokowi.
"It was his request. He wants to feel the blusukan," Head of Regional Bureau Chief and International Cooperation, Heru Budi Hartono said on Monday.
The meeting between Jokowi and Zuckerberg has been planned since four days ago. In the morning meeting at City Hall, the Facebook boss expressed his intention to carry out the blusukan with the new president.
"Mark was very surprised to see people's enthusiasm when greeting the elected president," Hartono added.
Jokowi first invited Zuckerberg to look around the stores in the center of Block A, Tanah Abang. Many people excited to see Zuckerberg. He remained give friendly smile on every citizen who appraoched him.
In future, Facebook keen to help Indonesian small and medium enterprises' sectors promotion. Tanah Abang is the biggest textile market in Southeast Asia. Block A is the biggest among others with 160,000 square meter with almost 8,000 kiosks. It is visited about 80,000 buyers in busy days with transaction about 500 billions IDR per day.
