REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- The construction of Palembang-Indralaya toll road in South Sumatra will be started in mid October after a number of delays. It is one of parts of Trans Sumatra Highway in MP3EI (the Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development) program.
"The ground breaking launching will be held on October. This event will be inagurated by Vice President Boediono," Secretary II of Financial and Economic Development in South Sumatra Provincial Government, Ruslan Bahri said on Wednesday.
According to Bahri, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has signed a Presidential Decree No. 100/2014 on the Acceleration of Highway Development in Sumatra, signed on September 17, 2014. There will be 23 toll roads built in Sumatra, such as Medan-Binjai toll road (16.8 kilometers), Palembang-Indralaya (22 km), Pekanbaru-Dumai (135 km) and Bakauheni-Tebing Tinggi (150 km).
Head of National Road Implementation (BPPJN) III Sumatra, Taspirin Sartiyono said that the Directorate General of Highway continued to speed up land acquisition in Palembang and Indralaya with funds from state budget until the end of the year.
"The first section of land acquisition has been conducted along 7 km with an area of 7.9 hectares (ha), while second and third section will be finished this year," Sartiyono said.
