President to visit US military academy

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NEW YORK -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono plans to visit the Military Academy of United States in West Point on Monday. During the visit, President will deliver a speech to all cadres of US Military Academy.

"West Point invites President to give a speech in a forum involving the defense experts," President's Special Staff for International Affairs, Teuke Faizasyah said on Monday in New York.

President will also attend a series of events, including the annual session of the United Nations (UN). Yudhoyono will emphasize the readiness of countries to achieve the target of MDG's and the next steps after 2015. President wants to convey the MDG's message even though there are a number of international development issues. It should be one of global focus.

UN's annual season will be held in September 2014. After that, Yudhoyono will leave for Washington for a number of activities.
