Palu seaport to extend to 2 thousand meters

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALU -- The dock of the Pantoloan Port, located in Palu city, Central Sulawesi, will be extended to 2 thousand meters to support the special economic zones in the city.

General Manager of the Indonesian Port Corporation, Pelindo IV, Ahmad made the statement here on Tuesday, adding that the construction project will be completed by 2025.

"The dock is expected to be extended soon to ensure smooth running of loading and unloading activities at the port," Ahmad said.

Currently, the length of the dock is 230 meters, which will be extended to about 40 meters in 2015.

The development of the Pantoloan Port is a part of the projects of Indonesian Development and Acceleration Master Plan, which was begun in 2011 and will continue until 2025.

Other construction projects in Palu city are Parigi toll road along 36 kilometers, Palu city's ring road, and water supply facilities.
