REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Indonesian national soccer team of under 19 years old (Timnas U-19) that will face their contenders in Myanmar in October, needed to face taller players in a tryout match, the Timnas coach has said.

The National Team Agency (BTN) will send Evan Dimas and his colleagues to Spain in an effort to undergo exercises in a training camp, the Timnas coach Indra Sjafri said on Monday. According to him, the Timnas U-19 will leave for Spain on September 10 and will return on September 26, 2014.

"We need to face taller players in the next tryout match. It will be very good for the squad preparation," Sjafri stated.

The under 19 years old team or the Garuda Jaya will be in the AFC 2014 Group B along with Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan, all of the player are taller than Indonesian players. Sjafri further said that during the squad's participation in the training camp, they need twice or thrice of tryout matches.

However, Sjafri did not know the prospective opponents his squads will face during their stay in Spain. Last year, Timnas U-19 defeated the South Korean club at the qualification final group G of AFC, in Jakarta`s Bung Karno's main stadium. The victory sends the Indonesian squad automatically qualified for the finals match of the AFC U-19 Cup, to be held in Myanmar in October 2014. The team earned nine points from victories in all three matches.

The young Indonesian soccer team was among the qualification final group G of AFC Cup along with South Korea, Laos and the Philippines. This was Indonesia`s first victory for the U-19 squad in the AFF tournament.
