REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Public participation is the key to solving social problems in Indonesia, noted Social Services Minister Salim Segaf Al Jufri.
One of the examples of the public's active participation is the presence of social organizations engaged in promoting social welfare, he remarked in a press statement released on Monday.
"The participation of national and international social organizations is important to achieve the common ideals, including social welfare," he affirmed.
The minister pointed out that education, health, and welfare were the three basic measurements for ensuring the nation's success.
Welfare encompasses clothing, food, and security that must be met, he stated.
Food and clothing will be meaningless if the social situation was not controllable, he remarked.
"The three measurements and qualifiers of success serve as the fundamental right of each citizen without exception," he added.
