Eight new reservoirs ready to operate

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Public Works, Djoko Kirmanto said that government would operate eight new reservoirs in Indonesia this year. Reservoir construction has been planned since 2010 in National Medium‐Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

"It is planned from 2010 to 2013," Kirmanto said recently.

The eight reservoirs are Jatigede, Jatibarang, Pandan Duri, West Nusa Tenggara, Banjulmati, Nipah, Titab, Bali and Diponegoro reservoir. During 2010 to 2013, government has completed three reservoirs. They are Paya Seunara reservoir in 2011, Aceh reservoir in 2012 and three reservoirs in 2013, namely Marangkayu, East Kalimantan and Rajuih reservoir.
