REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) rejected a lawsuit filed by presidential pair No. 2, Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa over disputed presidential election result. In the hearing session, PTUN chairman, Hendro Puspito said that PTUN had no authority to examine, decide and resolve the case.
"Because the lawsuit is not our authority," said Puspito recently.
Prabowo-Hatta pair sued the General Election Commission (KPU) chairman, Husni Kamil Manik over a leter No. 959/UND/VIII/2014 on July 21, 2014. It was an invitation letter in determination of recapitulation of presidential candidates for 2014 general election.
According to Article 190 Paragraph 1, Law No. 42/2008 on President and Vice Presidential Election, General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has the authority to receive reports of violations at each stage of election.
"The Administrative Court cannot examine, prosecute and decide it," the judge said.
With this condition, the Administrative Court rejected the lawsuit.
