REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, RAJA AMPAT -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the company of First Lady Ani Yudhoyono arrived at Waisai Torang Cinta (WTC) beach here on Saturday to attend the peak event of Sail Raja Ampat 2014.
The international maritime event of Sail Raja Ampat is organized to speed up the regional economic development and to make Indonesia the world's marine tourism destination.
The heavy rain when the president arrived at the WTC beach did not quench the spirit of local community to greet the state leader hilariously and enthusiastically.
President Yudhoyono and his entourage were greeted with traditional Raja Ampat batik dance.
During the visit to Raja Ampat for the sail event, the president is accompanied by among others Economic Minister Chairul Tanjung, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, Culture and Education Minister Muhammad Nuh, Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, and Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam.
Sail Raja Ampat is the sixth of its kind after Sail Bunaken 2009, Sail Banda 2010, Sail Wakatobi-Balitung 2011, Sail Morotai 2012, and Sail Komodo 2013.
