REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - US Senator from Arizona John McCain has called on the US and Indonesian governments to work together in fighting the Islamic States of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) movement and its propaganda.

During a discussion in @America, US Cultural Center, in Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta, Tuesday, McCain announced that one of the threats the ISIS posed was that it targeted thousands of younger generations to be jihadists to fight along with them by using propaganda.

"Not long ago, a young American went to Syria, and he subsequently blew himself up as a suicide bomber. Young men, including thousands from Europe, are attracted to the jihadists, the most extremist attraction from all over the world," Senator McCain explained.

Therefore, McCain has called on "the United States and Indonesia to work closely to identify the ISIS members and know where they are, what they are doing, because sooner or later, Mr. Baghdadi (ISIS leader) will motivate them to return to their home country to commit acts of terror."

"There is no other way of looking at it. More cooperation between all of our nations, particularly the largest Muslim country in the world, will play a significant role in helping the United States combat the propaganda that has attracted the people into the most extreme form of Muslim," McCain said.
