REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Organization of Land Transportation Owners (Organda) , Andriansyah asked government to guarantee subsidized diesel for public transportation. Although Ministry of Transportation has confirmed that the restriction will not involve public transportation, the confusion already happens.

"We received a report that a fuel station in Java's northern coastal highway (Pantura), Cirebon restricted the diesel purchase today," Andriansyah said recently.

The restriction is not government or Pertamina's decision, but determined by gas station operators due to scarcity in diesel fuel. Each vehicle can only buy diesel maximum of 100,000 IDR in one time charge. This policy also implemented to public transport operators. As the result, many public transportations, especially night buses supply additional fuel in the bus. It endangers passengers' safety.

"If this action continues, then sooner or later the public transport operators will surely raise cost. Andriansyah explained that Organda would propose government to impose the restriction only on private vehicles. The restriction to all types of transportations will disrupt logistic distribution and passengers.
