Export value of non-oil and gas grows to 15.41 percent

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO -- The non-oil and gas product export value of North Sulawesi Province in June 2014 had grown to 15.41 percent compared to that of the previous month, an official said here on Thursday.

"In June 2014, the North Sulawesi non-oil and gas export had reached US$136.90 million, or it had grown 15.41 percent compared to that in May 2014, which was US$118.62 million," head of North Sulawesi central bureau of statistics Faizal Anwar said.

Animal or vegetable fats and oils had been the largest export commodity of North Sulawesi Province in June 2014, with a value of US$90.86 million or 66.37 percent of the total export value.

The largest export destination country in June 2014 was the United States, with a value of US$48.34 million or 35.31 percent of the total export value in the province.

"In addition to the United States, the other export destinations of North Sulawesi during the period were the Netherlands and China," Faizal noted.

The largest export product gateway of North Sulawesi in June 2014 had been Port of Bitung, with an export value of US$109.49 million or 79.98 percent of the total export value.

Various commodities from North Sulawesi are not only exported through this province, but also to overseas markets through the Jakarta and East Java gateways.

The cumulative value of North Sulawesi's non-oil exports since January to June 2014 reached US$637.06 million. The export carried out through North Sulawesi gateways was worth US$563.26 million and as much as US$73.80 million through the other provinces.
