REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - One of Indonesia's largest taxi operator, PT Express Transindo Utama (Express Group) recorded an increase in net profit up to 30.54 percent to 79.10 billion IDR in first half 2014 compared to 60.59 billion IDR in 2013. The increase was due to higher revenue of 408.98 billion IDR or 23.41 percent.

Corporate Secretary, Merry Anggraini said that this achievement showed company's strategic steps in 2014 that focused on business expansion, increased efficiency and consistency in maintaining services quality as the success factors. Entering the second half of 2014, the company - whose shares are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) under the code TAXI - has announced its expansion plans by adding 150 buses and 300 taxis.

"With the addition of 2,000 buses and premium taxis, company could increase net income by 20 percent in the end of the year," Anggraini said on Monday.

Currently, Express Group has 300 pools in Jakarta and its surrounding area. The additions to the fleet are in response to the growing demand for transportation services provided by company.
