REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO - North Sulawesi exports 4.7 tonnes of nutmeg to India worth 53,375 USD. In India, nutmeg usually becomes the main ingredient for spices, aroma therapy, and pharmaceutical industry. 

"Our farmers will increase its production quality," Head of industry and trade department in Manado, Olvie Atteng said recently.

North Sulawesi nutmeg products met 70 percent of global market demand. Nutmeg and its derivative production centers are located in Sitaro islands district. Government will continue to facilitate the exporters to expand to new market for the commodity.
