Telkomsel expects 140 million subscribers in 2014

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- The country's largest mobile phone operator, PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) continues to develop its market. President Director of Telkomsel, Alex J Sinaga said that company set a target of 140 million customers by the end of the year.

"We have prepared the infrastructure and road map to strengthen the market," Sinaga said in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara recently.

To achieve the target, company seeks young people as new customers. For example, company will facilitate adequate network in young people centers. In many cities, young people love to gather for a chat over coffee.

Director of Sales of Telkomsel, Mas'ud Khamid said that company now had 136 million subscribers. The addition of four million new subscribers will be realized by the end of the year.

To provide the best service for its customers, Telkomsel continues to actively trialling 4G technology. Telkomsel now also has 76,000 base stations across Indonesia.

"We will constantly to develop 3G, HSDPA and HSPA+," Khamid said.
