REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Member of Prabowo-Hatta campaign team who is also spokesman of Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Mardani Ali Sera said that foreign parties should not interfere Indonesian sovereignty.

This is related to the statement of US Ambassador to Indonesia, Robert Blake who asked an investigation against Prabowo Subianto over human rights violation in 1990s, based on his written statement at Wall Street Journal recently.

"Whatever foreign intervention to Indonesian sovereignty, including its citizens must be rejected. We hope all countries in the world to respect the sovereignty and political process in this country," Sera said recently as reported by C29.

According to him, US needs to learn to let democracy run naturally in every country. US pressure on Indonesian government to investigate Prabowo will create a perception that US supports one of candidates in this presidential election.

"This is dangerous. We do not need to keep up the disproportionate demand," Sera added.

After said his statement, Black added that US did not support particular candidate.

"We take seriously human rights violations and ask Indonesian government to fully investigate this allegation," Blake said.
