REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO -- The National Standardization Agency (BSN) has implemented the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for children's toys. It means that all children's toys, which are sold in Indonesian markets must use SNI label on it.

"All children's toys, which are sold in Indonesia, including in North Sulawesi must put SNI label. We should withdraw all toys without SNI label," one of BSN members, Sumartini Maksum in Manado on Friday.

This rule is applied both for Indonesian toys products or imported toys. Maksum said that BSN would carry out socialization to small and medium entrepreneurs, as well as industry and trade departments.

BSN will conduct 29 tests, including mechanical test, fire resistance, chemical migration, slide and electrical power test. Head Industry and Trade Division in North Sulawesi' Trade Department, Hanny Wajong said that the limit time of SNI in children's toys could encourage entrepreneurs to improve qualities of products.
