REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Board of Public Studies in Sabang-Merauke Circle (SMC), Syahganda Nainggolan said that Prabowo Subianto could be accepted by all members and followers of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Indonesian largest Muslim organization as the presidential candidate. NU's chairman, Said Aqil Siradj has given his support for Prabowo in this year election.
"Siradj supports him. It indicates that he can be accepted by NU. Prabowo's presence is expected to strengthen Islamic foundation and bring the improvement of people's mandate," Nainggolan said on Monday as reported by M Akbar.
The four star general has built many political communications with NU leaders and he got a positive signal. People are preferred to choose Prabowo as ideal candidate than others because he has a strong and bold character. He has the capability to create nation's progress.
Gerindra and its coalition parties will declare Prabowo and his vice presidential candidate, Hatta Rajasa on Monday. Prabowo together with National Mandate Party (PAN), Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and United Development Party (PPP) will hold the inauguration at former house of Bung Karno at Cipinang Street, East Jakarta.
