Malaysia violates Indonesian border in Kalimantan

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PONTIANAK -- Indonesian Navy in Pontianak, West Kalimantan investigated the possibility of violation in Indonesian water by Malaysia at Tanjung Datu. Tanjung Datu is located in the border area between West Kalimantan and Sarawak, Malaysia.

A team received reports on Saturday. There was flashing beacon installation at Tanjung Datu by Malaysia. It was occurred in Indonesian territory.

Indonesian navy ships have been deployed to the area to ensure the news, while a navy officer who declined to be named confirmed that they followed up all Malaysian activities in the location.

Tanjung Datu is a border region in Paloh, Sambas district, West Kalimantan, including Gosong Niger in water area and Camar Wulan in the island. Both countries still have not agreed the boundaries between Indonesia and Malaysia. Mutia Ramadhani/Antara
