Bekasi to raid sex workers regularly

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIKARANG - Bekasi city government, West Java will intensify raids of commercial sex workers in a number of spots ahead of Ramadhan this year. Head of Bekasi's Civil Service Police Unit, Dikdik Jasmedi said that the operation aimed to respect the fasting month.

"We arrested at least 17 sex workers in several locations," Jasmedi said recently. 

Those who arrested will get some training from regional office of Ministry of Social Affairs. Ten of them were taken to rehabilitation center in Pasar Rebo, Jakarta, while seven other were taken to Cirebon, West Java. Most of them are new comers at age between 18 to 25 years old. The operation will be carried out regularly in some spots.
