REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SOLO -- An Indonesian domestic worker named Sri Maryani (40 years) from Banjarsari Manahan, Solo, Central Java, reportedly died in a hospital at Malaysia.
"We get information about Sri Maryani due to the victim of a hit and run accident, on Wednesday (15/6) at 09.00 am local time from her friend, Mohammad Sofyan, a Malaysian," Sri's brother Sriyono (39) at the funeral home, Platuk I Street, Manahan Solo, on Saturday (18/6).
Sriyono added, his family was got the news that Sri became victim of hit and run accident before fasting Sunday (5/6). Then, Sri unconsciousness for one week.
"But, we are surprise after the victim reportedly passed away in hospital in Malaysia. However, the family is not able to do anything because we don't have cost to repatriate the deceased," Sriyono said.
Then, Sriyono continued, he was contacted the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur to call for help repatriate the bodies of victim.
"We were then asked to submit an identity, including letter poor, and heirs to take care of the requirements of its cost," he said.
According Sriyono the family can only hope that the Indonesian government to repatriate the corpse of Sri Maryani to the funeral home for burial.
Sriyono said the victims worked abroad as golf caddies Club Rahman Putra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Sri Maryani went to Malaysia for the second time and the last after Eid, 2015. Sri Maryani is a widow who has three children named Bagus RJ (22), Diah Ayu Citra Resmi (19), Rama Bahtiar Putra (15) and Kunti Tri Ayudewi (11) and also her mother Juminah (58).
Sri Maryani's family lived the house in Platuk I Street, Banjarsari Manahan Solo, hoping for Government help to repatriate the Sri to Solo.
Juminah added, her daughter is working to Malayasia after her efforts to make birdhouse bankrupt. In fact, her husband passed away since three years ago.
"Maryani last contacted her family in the three months before fasting.
I heard she died due to hit and run accident," Juminah said.
