Thirty five new HIV/AIDS cases found in Sukabumi

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SUKABUMI - Thirty five new HIV/AIDS cases have been found in Sukabumi, West Java until May 2014. Secretary of  HIV/AIDS Commission in Sukabumi, Asep Suherman said that seven people living with HIV/AIDS passed away. 

In most of earlier cases in Sukabumi, the virus was transmitted through syringe sharing among drug users. But currently, more cases caused by sexually transmission or accounted 60 percent while the remaining cases caused by syringe sharing.  

HIV/AIDS cases in Sukabumi have increased in last the three years, from 14 cases in 2011 to 22 cases in 2012 and 89 cases in 2013.
