REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Board Advisory Council in National Mandate Party (PAN), Tjatur Sapto Edy said that the party decided to form a coalition with Gerindra Party to support Prabowo Subianto in presidential election this year. He said that Prabowo could implement Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.

"We see that Prabowo is the one who can carry out the mandate of Article 33 of the 195 Constitution," Edy said recently.

According to him, PAN and Gerindra coalition was not based an assumption that Prabowo would pick Hatta Rajasa, Chairman of PAN as his vice presidential candidate.

"We let Prabowo to decide it. There are also other candidates from Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and Golkar Party. The possibility of Rajasa as vice presidential candidate is not the reason why we join this coalition," Edy said.
